New Favorite! Ordered our food to go, so it was still pretty impressive lukewarm. Would've probably been great hot off the stove!
We ordered the carne asada plate, steak tacos, chicken tacos, and shrimp cocktail - all very tasty and at a generous price and serving size. -

El Tapatio? More like un nap-atio.
Mariscos El Tapatio was a Taco Tuesday candidate for me tonight on account of its proximity to my friend's house. A phone call helped to confirm that there was some sort of tacos special going on, so I decided to go.
I was a bit lost when I got to the ARCO ampm, but I soon realized that this restaurant is more of a hole in the wall inside the convenience store. I confirmed that there was a deal for 3 street tacos for $6 with rice and beans, but I was disappointed to learn that they were missing such printed menu items as al pastor and lengua for some reason. I wonder if it had to do with the health inspection B grade with today's date on it. We shall see if I care to check back...
Anyway, I just went with asada (steak), carnitas (pork), and buche (pork stomach) as my meat choices. The tacos were promising with the double tortilla setup and the plentiful onions and cilantro, and the asada was the best and most flavorful. The carnitas were rather dry and salty though, and the buche was pretty bland. The sides of rice and beans (more whole than refried, strangely) were fine, but some of the tortilla chips were too hard to crunch through easily and the salsa were oddly served in plastic bags rather than typical plastic sauce cups.
Perhaps they're better and executing at their namesake mariscos (seafood) or their Guadalajaran specialties, but El Tapatio should have the basics down pat and they really don't. I didn't get sick, but I got pretty bored and i probably won't come back given the abundance of other comparably priced taquerias to try in the area. -

The grad student in me is rejoicing for finding a good deal in Mariscos el Tapatio. The money I'm saving here is going straight to coffee to fuel me for more study seshes.
It's a great, small shop inside the am/pm that's run by one man. When I came by, he was sleeping but he woke up when I came by. I ordered 4 carne asada tacos to test the waters of this place. He washed his hands and got to grilling. It was really quick and fresh.
It's got a lot of flavor and the salsas you get are spicy and tasty. It won't burn your tongue off but it's got a nice heat to it. The order comes with rice, beans, and chips which is a nice touch. The tacos themselves are solid. They're exactly what you'd expect a carne asada taco would be and for the price, it's great.
I paid $7 for 4 tacos, beans, rice, and chips. Coming from California, I'm used to $0.50 or $1 tacos, but dang, this is a good deal for the Vegas valley.
Overall, I'm excited to come back and try ceviche, al pastor tacos, tortas, etc. The owner is so nice and friendly that I want to spread the word. Definitely go try it for yourself! You won't leave disappointed. -

I don't care what anybody says or what - dirty dining who cares! That's why they opened the next day with ZERO demerits and A grade! This place is BOMB! It is one of the best places on this side of town and the owner is wonderful and friendly. Their aguachiles is THE BEST I've ever tasted! This place is a must try. It will NOT disappoint.

This restaurant is more hidden than some speakeasies. I swear Sasquatch would be easier to find. Important information you need to know about this place, it is in the back of the AM/PM. Make sure you go through the doors of the AM/PM. After you go through the doors, use your Indiana Jones skills to explore through the AM/PM until you get to the back. Once you get to the back, you will find this lost treasure of a restaurant. Great authentic Mexican seafood. Try the Pina Rellano. This is half of a pineapple filled with seafood and meat. Once you finish your meal, you will be happy that you went on this lost crusade.
